Summer Holiday in Japan 2009 – Day 9: Second day in Tokyo
This day should be devoted to visiting the Tokyo National Museum, but inexplicably and without any notice even on the official site, the museum was closed.
So we spent all afternoon and what remained of the morning to the shops of Akihabara, a district of electronics, computer, anime, manga, music, and action figures (and various gadgets related to those topics).
Among the various shops, one in particular must be emphasized: Yodobashi Akiba, the largest electronics and toys store, that I’ve seen! It must be visited, even for those who don’t love technology.
Personally, I still enjoyed myself to wander around this neighborhood, so that the next few days I went again … maybe was I become an otaku?
However, this was a day when we have not done photos (a video was made, but in Shibuya and Shinjuku, not in Akihabara). Overall we made only two photos in Akihabara! This because we were very busy to see the shops contents.
In the evening we tried to visit the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building but it was raining, so we fled to a pub in Shibuya and finally (something I never said but we did it every night) we bought food from one of those shops(kombini) opened 24 hours a day and we’re back at the hotel.
The photo above is Yodobashi Akiba and was made in last day of our Japan Holiday.
