Summer Holiday in Japan 2009 – Day 13: Sixth day in Tokyo
When the first day in Tokyo we visited the artificial island of Odaiba with our 7 Japanese friends, because of time constraints, we have not seen many shows at Miraikan and we have not seen all the most famous attractions.
On this day, a Saturday, I and one of my other traveling companions, we decided to return to Odaiba.
At Miraikan we have seen: a movie in 3D, a simulator (3D with moving seats) that have made us understand what we would have seen and heard if we were the near robot-insect, a film show at 360 degrees (Dome Teather – “Gaia”, a cinema where the screen is a whole hemisphere … wonderful).
After Miraikan we ate at a fast food restaurant nearby that I do not recommend to anyone and then we went to a shopping mall where the interior has been recreated as an Italian city (see photo), the Venus Fort.
Nearby we visited the Megaweb, the Toyota showroom, where, among several prototypes and normal cars, there was also a small electric car with automatic pilot that has taken us a tour of the facility.
After the Toyota showroom we went in the panoramic sphere of Fuji Television building and then in the area of the Gundam statue to take some souvenir. In the evening we left Odaiba to reach Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building where we had a look at Tokyo from the top floor of the building.
Then, running, we reached Asakusa, where he held the largest fireworks display in Tokyo (Sumida River Fireworks Display)… it’s a pity that we only saw the last fires and in a very unfavorable position(behind buildings). People were so much that was considered normal to see the show with that point of view.
