Summer Holiday in Japan 2009 – Day 14: Seventh day in Tokyo
For this last day available for the visiting Tokyo we spent the morning with a last ride to Akihabara for a last shopping at the Tokyo Anime Center, a shop (contained in a large building for the conventions of Akihabara) dedicated to exclusive goods related to Japanese cartoons (where among other things, I bought a nice Astroboy T-shirt for few money).
In the afternoon we met with our friend in Tokyo that took us to visit Harajuku, another neighborhood of “young people” in Tokyo, and the park Yoyogi Koen, one of the largest in Tokyo.
Inside the park we visited the Meiji Shrine, where we saw a part of a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony. At the entrance of the park you can catch a glimpse of characters who gather in this place dressed in a very odd manner (just search with “Google Images”, the word “Harajuku” and you have a complete idea of what can be seen in that place).
In the evening we took a tour of the shopping centers Parco I, II and III in Shibuya and then we went to eat at a restaurant with our japanese friend.
Before to return to our hotel we spent a bit of time in a shop/coffee bar opened 24 hours a day dedicated to books, magazines, DVDs and audio CDs in a building of 6 floors.
