New Q&A: How do I choose a flight?
The three main factors to consider are: arrival time at destination, the day of the week and your budget.
Apart from special needs, it is always advisable to arrive in Japan in a non-holiday weekday to avoid running into shops closed (even if in big
cities are shopping centers usually open).
Regarding the arrival time is advisable to choose a flight that land in Japan in the morning, the ideal time is from 8:00am to 10:00am, this is because:
- You will see the panorama of the city where you plane will land
- You have all day to orient yourself, get to the hotel and give a first glimpse of the city.
- Usually all the shops are open after 9:00am, so if you forget something at home you have the opportunity to solve the problem
- If there is a big time difference between your country and Japan and do not want to miss even one day, I recommend strongly that you sleep more time possible in the airplane, to not go to sleep in the arrival day and visit the area around your hotel (or other places of your interest) in the same day. This will help you to avoid almost all the symptoms of jet lag.
Depending on your budget, then there are several possible alternatives:
- If you have a lot of money available, I recommend that you choose to fly first class (or business class), because that significantly increases the comfort, and to choose an airline
with the type of cuisine that you like. Note that a flight in business class cost even 6 times more than a flight in economy class.
- Instead, if you have little money or simply want to use them for other things then you have to choose a flight in economy class the cheapest possible. To do this you can use a search engine for flights that are on the Internet such as the following:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Flights
http://www.dohop.com/ (that own a blog: http://blog.dohop.com/)
but I advise you to request a quote for a cheap flight to one of the travel agencies that deal exclusively with trips to Japan as these two:
JTB (Japan Travel Bureau)
HIS (H.I.S.CO., LTD)
http://www.giappone.hisitaly.com/
http://www.jtbitaly.eu/home.php
once had the flight details you can choose to buy it from them or directly on the website of the airline company or another agency.
If the trip is very long and you’re a gourmet, take along some food from home to eat in the airplane, as a rule, the dishes served during the flight are not very good to eat.
