New Q&A: If I lose my documents what can I do?

In case you have lost your documents you should definitely contact the embassy or consulate of your country in Japan. Some recommendations to follow:
- * Before * you leave, make two photocopies of the documents (passport, insurance policy) and put one in your hand luggage and one in the aircraft hold.
- When you arrive at the airport a note will be attached to your passport with a detachable coupon: Take care to not lose that ticket because you will need when you return to your country.
- * Always * keep your passport with you in a safe place when you travel within Japan: we will not lose much time in case of controls (that are rare but not impossible).
