Japan Travel guide: List of things to do before the trip
I apologize for the delay in updating the site but from some days I have been very busy with work
(preparation of an advanced course about PLC, elections of Delta Po Adige drainage consortium, etc. …).
This time I propose a list of things to do before you leave.
Remember that the Japan Travel Guide should help for people wishing to prepare the entire trip by himself about every detail.
The list that follows is precisely my main note: all the questions that one might do preparing the trip follow from this list.
- Bank account and VISA credit card activation
- Booking and Flight payment
- Passport Creation
- Hotel Reservations
- Complete daily program with detailed descriptions of travel destinations to be visited with any notes on how to reach them.
- Buy Japan Rail Pass
- Purchase medical insurance with direct refund
- Purchase adapter plugs
- Purchase phraseology and/or electronic translator
- Purchase dictionary (optional)
- Purchase guides and maps
- Purchase Netbook Computer
- Purchase a travel kit for computer (portable headphones, lan cable, mini usb mouse, ecc..)
- Buy Skype Credit (10 € are usually more than enough for 16 days of telephone calls)
- Purchase phone compatible with Japanese system
- Activating offer for international roaming at decent price (optional but recommended)
- Purchase camcorder(like this one: http://sanyo.com/xacti/english/products/vpc_hd2000/index.html with relative bag like this(tested in my Japan trip)).
- Exchange 1000€ to Yen (for a 16 days trip flight days included)
- Hand luggage preparation (a backpack with 1 change of clothes + netbook + documents) (up to 8 kg with Finnair but it is good to see on the website of your airline what’s the charge limits)
- Hold luggage preparation (max 20kg usually) (clothes, shaver, alarm and any particular food and/or various medicines)
- (in case) Any medical certification for the transport of medicines for chronic diseases (to show the airport)
- A portable luggage scale …. that is a dynamometer (you can buy only one for all your group, it will be very useful before you return home)
